We created a game called 'GAKGAKGO!' in collaboration with children as part of the course 'child-centered design'. The course tied in with a bigger project called 'Læselyst og læserum'.
Our goal was to empower the children to collaboratively create imaginative and crazy stories while receiving recognition for their creativity. The game provided a structure for the children to work within, helping them to take responsibility and focus on generating great ideas. Currently, 'GAKGAKGO!' is undergoing testing at various schools and libraries.

The proces
During the development of 'GAKGAKGO!', our design process involved weekly testing and refining our concepts together with a class of third graders. For seven weeks, we visited the class once a week and collaborated with the children to co-create the game.

We focused on creating a game that would inspire the children's creativity while providing structure to guide their imaginative ideas.

The children's input was invaluable in the development of 'GAKGAKGO!'. Their ideas and suggestions helped us to shape and refine the game mechanics and create an experience that was both engaging and fun. We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked with the class of third graders and for the valuable insights they provided us.
